Where is Steven Kazmierczak's hard drive? The laptop seized from a DeKalb motel is believed to be connected to the shooting at Northern Illinois University.

Laptop hard drives are very easy to remove these days. The drive can typically be removed with just one or two screws. When a laptop needs to go in for service many people remove their hard drive. Most of all, people usually remove their hard drive when they want to take their data with them without transporting the entire laptop.
